Four and a half weeks until Houston…

Posted by:

Yep, only four and a half weeks to go. I really don’t want this fall season to end. After life pretty much sucking the first eight months of the year, I’ve really hit my stride and I’m in a great place. Everything just seems to be falling right into place.
All my tune up races are pointing to a PR at Houston. I’m actually not really that worried about a PR, just want that BQ. My legs and head are …

Race Report: Jingle Bell 5k

Well the fall/winter racing season is now officially over before Houston. Probably my best season since 2006.

I really wasn’t planning on running 170 miles the last two weeks, but I did. Last week was a really tough one, the mileage wasn’t that bad, but there was loads of quality mixed in. Tuesday and Saturday’s workouts were both 12+ miles and the high bridge was on Saturday. I came through it in one piece, but the 16 miler on Sunday wasn’t the best run I’ve ever had.
Now on to a cut-back week for Philly. The plan …

Freedom 10 mile report and Houston Marathon Training Week 5…

Posted by:

After one of my longer weeks of training this year and some decent training results, I have finally come to the point in my running where I’ve stopped feeling sorry for myself and just started to run. It’s taken me a couple years, but I think I have done it. I’ve proven the last few weeks that I am a decent runner and the confidence is at the top end right now.
Probably should have saved this for next week’s recap …
